Satoko Tokuda - Freelance medical translator

I was born in Hokkaido and grew up in Hiroshima, Japan. Currently I’m working as an English-Japanese translator in Sapporo, Hokkaido. (Time zone:UTC+9)

I graduated an integrated junior and senior high school which was very active in English education in Fukuyama, Hiroshima. When I was a high school student, I had experience of translation a foreign book during English class. I was fascinated to the deep and interesting world of translation at that time.

After graduation from university, I have worked in the education industry for 3 years and pharmaceutical wholesale company for about 10 years. While working hard to improve my knowledge of pharmaceutical items and medical devices, I was engaged in receiving orders for pharmaceutical items and medical devices. Sometimes I introduced medical items to the customer, healthcare provider. I have led many medical products to orders based on introductions that understand the needs of customers.

In 2021, I embarked on my career as a freelance translator. With the knowledge gained in my previous career, the rich expression skills I have sharpened since my student days, and my inexhaustible intellectual inquisitiveness, I have engaged on the translation of various documents including clinical trial reports, the manual of medical devices, and market research documents for healthcare providers.

Recently, the development of generative AI and machine translation are really remarkable. However, my belief is that:

It's the only HUMAN who can provide humane translation.

It’s the only HUMAN who can translate understanding feelings behind the words, cultural background and context.

Based on this belief, I would like to respond to requests from you with my rich expression skills and expertise. You can request from anywhere in the world!Feel free to contact me.
